The UAE is taking new steps to make traveling to the United Arab Emirates a lot easier for tourists from the GCC countries. This move will make the visitation process to the country more accessible, expanding tourism in the country.

This is good news for those who want to visit the United Arab Emirates and explore the wonders of the place, where Burj Khalifa and Museum of the Future are located. According to the Dubai Tourism Performance Report for January issued by the Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai has welcomed 1.77 million international tourists in January 2024, which is a remarkable increase of 21% compared to 1.47 million visitors in the same period of 2023.

But the UAE is not just focusing on the tourism of Dubai but on all 7 Emirates as the country’s economy minister said that the success of Dubai should be the success of the whole UAE. They’re currently working on new packages that promote travel in all seven emirates, as the tourism in the UAE has always been centered in Dubai, for years.

Now that the new initiative is an integral part of the GCC 2030 tourism strategy, it was designed to elevate the tourism sector’s contribution to the GDP through increased inter-GCC travel and elevated hotel occupancy rates.

The UAE Digital Government has clarified that GCC citizens do not need a visa or sponsorship to visit the country and they’re eligible for entry by only presenting a passport issued by a GCC state or an identity card upon arrival at UAE.

Individuals abroad are also being urged to visit the provided link (https://www.visitdubai.com/en/plan-your-trip/visa-information) to access the list of nationalities exempt from prior visa arrangements. Once eligible, they can obtain a valid entry visa for 30 days upon arrival, with a grace period of 10 days.

Additionally, citizens from selected countries can obtain a visa for 90 days upon arrival.

And for individuals who do not qualify for visa exemptions, it is more than essential to secure a prearranged entry permit from a sponsor before traveling to the UAE if prior visa arrangements are required. The specific type of entry permit needed is determined by the purpose of the visit and is issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
